Special meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday, Janoo24, 1968 at 7:00 P.M. in the Mesier Homestead. Those present: Mayor Furnari, Tr. DiDomizio, Tr, A. Napoleon, Tr, Bain, Tro D,O. Napoleon,~Tr. Cheetba~ and Atty. Lyons, Mayo: Furnarl requested everyone present to observe a moment of silence in memory of Sgt. Dwight Robbins who passed away this,date. Motion by Tr. Bain~ seconded by Tr. Cheetham that the following resolution be adopted. WHEREAS, by the death of Dwight L. Robbins this Village has lost a valued citizen, one who was ever ready with a helping hand for all in trouble, and who was always kind and genial with all he met. Very rarely do we khow one whose temperament is always the same~ and who was loved by all as was our deceased Policeman of this Villager who had served his office faithfully and honozabl~. Be it Further Resolved that we forever keep his memory green in our hearts, and while we accept the.will of God in all things we mourn the loss of one now gone to that bourne from which no traveller returns. Be it Further Resolved that a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of the meeting and also a copy sent to the family of the deceased. Resolution adopted. Mayor Furnari reported meetin~ was called for the following reasons: 1. Interview Engineers for the employment on the Secondary Treatment Plant_project. 2. Adopt resolution authorizing Water Dept. to hire only Village residents for position of Water Clerk. 3. Consider the application of Mr. James Delehanty Jr. for position of Policeman with t he Wappingers Falls Police Dept. Mr. Dominick Palumbo addressed the meeting requesting the position as Engineer for himself and Mr. Cassidy concerning the Secondary Treatment Plant project. Mr. Palumbo discussed Mr. Cassidy's background reporting he has received & scholar- ship for a Ma~ters Degree in Sanitary Engineering and presently holds a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. Mr. Palumbo reported that he was a combined Mechanical and Civil Engineer and has passed the test fo~ a Senior Civil Engineer. He reported flow of fluids is more accurately done by mechanical engineers a~d was confident he and Mr. Cassidy could perform this service as they had previously done this type of work fo: the State. Discussion followed on performing this service on a part time basis. Mr. Palumbo discussed his and Mr. Cassidy's background in sewer treatment and reported prices would be determined by the ASCE, Mayor Furnari thanked Mr. Palumbo for his presentation.
