39 <br /> <br />Adjourned meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on May 17, 1966 <br />a~ 7:30 I~M in the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br />Those present: Mayor Furnari, Tr. VanVoorhis, Tro DiDomiz~o, Tr. Bain, Tr. <br />Lawrence~ Tr. Napoleon and Att. MacDonald. <br />Tr, Sabia absent. <br /> <br />Petition presented to the Village Clerk containing 256 n~mes protesting the <br />cutting down of 4 trees in.front of the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br />Att. MacDonald reported petltioh comes from taxpayess, but no previous notice <br />has been given by petitioners to be heard. <br /> <br />Motion.by Tr. Bain, sedonded by Tr. Lawrence that notice, to be put on agenda <br />be Waived and petitioners be granted permission to address the Board. Motion <br />carried- one voting a~ainst. <br /> <br />Mrs. Welt, representing group, stated trees are alive and shouldn't be dest- <br />royed. She reported she wouldn't be against moving trees. <br />Mayor Furnari reported trees won't be taken down till after Park Commission's <br />meeting tomorrow evening. <br /> <br />Tr. Napoleon recommended communications should be read at special meetings <br />to eliminate over flow at regular meetings. <br /> <br /> Two letters were eead from Mr. Haubennestel: <br /> 1. Requesting permission for the Veterans of Foreign War & American Legion <br /> Post to hold parade in the Village on Memorial Day between 9:00 & 11:00 AM. <br /> 2. Invitation to Mayor & Village Board to,participate in Memorial Day Parade. <br /> <br /> Motion by Tr. Bain,seconded by Tr. Napoleon that permission be granted to hold <br />~Memorial Day parade and Village Board accept invitation to participate. Carried. <br /> <br /> Motion by Tr. DiDomizio, seconded by T~. Napoleon that permission be granted <br /> the Wappingers Central School to held an Art Show in the Mesier Park on Sat- <br /> urday, May 21, 1966. Carried. <br /> <br /> Letter was read from Treasurer McDonald concerning report to be filed with <br /> State Comptroller 60 days after close of fiscal year concerning Tort claims <br /> and he inquired if Village Bd. had any question on same. <br /> Village Board in agreement that therw was,no question on Tort Claims and same <br /> to be turned over to Village Treasurer for filing. <br /> <br /> Letter was read from NY$ Dept. of Public Works concerning form to be filed <br /> giving mileage of Village streets. <br /> Turned over to John Berinato for completion. <br /> <br /> Letter was read from RMC Cable, Inc. requesting a franchise for cabled TV <br /> in the Village, <br /> Motion by Tr. Bain, seconded by Tr, Lawrence tha action on the above request <br /> be tabled till next regular Village Bd. meeting. Carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
