7! <br /> <br />Public Hearing of the Village Board of Trustees was held on June 14, 1966 at <br />7:30 P.M. in the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br />Those present: Tr. DiDomizio, Tr. Bain, Tr. La~rence and Tr. Napoleon. <br /> <br />Purpose of the Hearing to discuss a petitioh presented to the Board %o amend <br />the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map of the Village of'Wappingers Falls, c~ang- <br />ing the classificatio~ from CBD-Central Business District, to ID-Industrial <br />District, for a parcel of land located on Mill St., belonging to Mr. Andrew <br />Andrews. <br /> <br />Clerk reported petition for the change of Zoning was ~resented to the Village <br />Bd. on May 11~ 1966. <br />Motice of the Public Hearing was published in the W, & S.D. News on May 19, 1966. <br /> <br />~etition for this change in zoning had been referred to the Village Planning <br />'Bd. for their recommendations and it was their opinion that this parcel o2 <br />land not be rezoned as'it was i~ contrast with the Master Plan, now in progress <br />for the Village. <br /> <br />Notice of the petition for a change in zoning had been forwarded th~ Dutchess <br />County Planning Bd. and the Town Clerks in Wapplngers and Poughkeepsie. <br /> <br />Mr. Russell Aldrich, attorney orr petitioner, ~eported petition was presented <br />Hay 11, 1966 for a zoning change. <br />He reported that before Zoning had existed this was and industrial property and <br />at t~e time Zoning Was enacted, Village took existing use of the property. <br />'Mr. Aldrich ~eported, his{orically speaking~ this property was industria~ when <br />Sweet Orr manufacture4 clothing and asked that~ property be'restored to its <br />original use, manufacturing.. <br />Mr. Aldrich reported concern would build wooden cabinets and assured residents <br />machines wouldn't make much noise. <br /> <br />He sta~ed this concern would have to comply with all orders of the Village & <br />dust would be eliminated. <br />He reported concern is high class outfit and would ~mploy local people. <br />Mr. Aldrich discussed compliance with law which must be maintained to safe <br />traffic, etc. <br />He reported Village needs new industry and requested zoning change ~e 9ranted. <br /> <br />Dr. DiMarc~, resident of Spring St., reported his property abutts property <br />requesting a zoning change and tenant has trespassed already and no difference <br />can be expected in the future. <br />Mr. Aldrich reported Police should enforce the law. <br /> <br />Mrs. Currans,'16 E. M~in St., reported property is a fire hazard, fire insur- <br />ance will go up~and felt prop~rty'shouldn't be rezoned Industrlal.~ <br />Mr. Aldrich stated his client didn't cause fire insurance rates to go up and <br />that problem rests with proper officials. <br />Mrs. Currans also stated there was'no parking facilities. <br /> <br /> <br />
