Special meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Saturday, Neb. 18, <br />1967 at 11:00 A.M. in the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br />Those present: Mayor Furnari, Tr. DiDomizio, Tro Bains Tr. Lawrence, Tr.~ <br />Napoleon, Tr. Sabia, Att. Lyons and Att. MacDonaldo <br />Tr. VanVoorhis absent. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr, Napoleon, seconded by Tr. Sabia that notice of special meeting <br />be waived. Carried. <br />All members present, previously informed of meetingt including Tr. VanVoorhis, <br /> <br />Mr. Haubennestel distributed copies of his report and minutes of special <br />meeting of the Board held on Feb. 16s 1967, concerning collapse of a wall <br />at Tudor Village. <br /> <br />He reported visiting site last evening and this mornin§ and that guard was <br />on duty. <br /> <br />Mr. Haubennestel stated Mr. Nudrydis will be in Monday to determine what can <br />be done with building. <br />He requested authorization from~the Board not tO apply the time needed for <br />cleaning up debris, due to the collapse, to the 30 day order. No action taken. <br /> <br />Mr. Haubennestel reported representative from the State will inspect building <br />Monday and Cease & Desist O~der is in effect. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Napoleon, seconded by Tr. Bain that the minutes of special <br />meeting held on Feb. 16, 1967 be accepted as written. Carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Chazen, Engineer, addressed the Board stating developers haven't followed <br />'plans and workmanship poor which, as a result, contribu-ted toward the collapse <br />of the wall at Tudor Village. <br /> He stated building plates not bolted to foundation. <br /> Mr. Chazen inquired as to course o£ action Village will take, as & dangerous <br /> condition exists. <br /> He stated either demolish entire damaged building or take constructive <br /> steps to repair same are the only courses of action. <br /> <br />Mr. Chazen stated Village is now in position to force measures. <br />He reported someone has to 9o in and repair defects which exist and Mort- <br />gage Co, should have the right to protect investment. <br />He stated buildings were not constructed according to plans, as wooden beams <br />were substituted for steel beams. <br /> <br />Engineer Kelley reported center columns of buildings were discussed 6 to 8 <br />months ago and letter was sent akking for the submission of plans for safer <br />construction. <br />Hestated he received no indication from either, architect or engineer on <br />how repairs would be made. <br /> <br /> <br />
