The Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on May 13th., <br />196~ at ?:30 P.M. <br />Those present: Mayor Furnari. Tr. VanVoorhis, Tr. DiDomiz'io, Tr. Temple, <br />Tr. Cheetham, Tr. Napoleon, Tr. Fitzpatrick, Attorney Pearse and Treasurer <br />McDonald. No one absent. <br />Motion by Tr. Temple and seconded by Tr. DiDomtzio to dispense with the <br />regular order of business to hear guests. Carried <br />JosePh Lopez requested help from the Board to improve Ing~I1 St. This was <br />referred to Highway Comm., but Mr. Lopez asked if the Board would act now. <br />Sup't. Berinato said if the Village had put gravel down, water would run <br />over everyone's property. Tr. DiDomizio asked why the Village doesn't <br />accept this road; Mayor Furnari explained that due to its Iow elevation, <br />the expense for Sewer would run high. Tr. Napoleo~ commented that since <br />this street isn't a thoroughfare, would it be a Village possession. Mr. <br />Pearse said it is a Paper Street. Mayor asked Sup't. Berinato to look at <br />Street to see what could be done. <br /> <br /> yor Furnari read a letter fromMr. Art Weinberg, requesting permission <br />for his representative, Mr. James Stevens, to address the Board cna plan <br />for "Sick Pay" for Village employees. Mr. Stevens was called on to discuss <br />the plan. He explained how the Health Plan was different in ..that ~req~irements <br />were not stringent and could be composed of groups of five. He stated that <br />through this p~an workmans compensation pays a weekly income and 2~ hour, <br />12 month coverage is offered. He stated all claims are settled out of Pough- <br />keepsie, and the Underwriting rules are liberal. This policy is guaranteed <br />renewable as long as member is with Village. Mayor suggested a meeting with <br />Village employees and that the Board would decide and let him know. <br /> Mayor. Furnari called on Mr. James Lyons to give his report on the Liss Rd' <br /> Sewer Extension Plan. Mr. Lyons said he was called in on project due to the <br /> illness of Mr. Pearse. He stated that easements weren't presented until <br /> October of 1963.Mr. Ackerman was in hospital at the.time and the remainder <br /> of the easements weren't presented until March 6th., 196~. Easements had <br /> been prepared twice and on both occasions they weren't able to obtain <br /> signatures. Two easements, one through Brookside Gardens and the other <br /> Mrs. Crosby's property, were the only things halting the progress of the <br /> project. Mr. Lyons stated that he has the resolution and notice of adoption, <br /> but can't start until easements are signed. Tr. Cheetham asked how close <br /> settlement was and Mr. Lyons stated he didn't know. Resident of Liss Rd. <br /> said Health Department has complained!twice and hoped action would be taken <br /> soon. Mayor said project would start within a few months. Mayor thanked Mr. <br /> Lyons for his report. <br /> <br /> Motion by Tr. DiDomiziO and seconded by Tr. Cheetham to return to the regular <br /> order of business. Carried <br /> Minutes of last regular Village Board Meeting were read by Clerk. Tr. <br /> Napoleon stated the contract for zoning which was proposed was $2,050 and <br /> not $2,500. Tr. Cheetham stated that the name of the project mentioned is <br /> Brookside Gardens and not Brookside Drive. <br /> 'Motion by Tr. Cheetham and seconded by Tr.
