Also present <br /> Planning Board and W~ter Board. <br /> <br /> Those present: Village Board:Mayor Furnari~ Tr. Napoleon~ Tr. Bain <br /> Tr. DiDomizio~ Tr. Temple, Tr. Cheetham~ Tr. VanVoorhis. <br /> Water Board: Mr. Joseph Fries~ ~. Jack Feeney~ Mr. Anthony DiMarco. <br /> Planning Board: ~. Edward Crafty Mr. R.J. Marshall~ Mr. John Evans~ <br />Mr. Groenwegen. Mr. Epstein was absent. <br /> <br />Mayor Furnari discussed water situation and described work of water <br />board~ complimenting them on their services to the Village at such a <br />reasonable cost. <br /> <br />Mayor Furnari called on Mr. Joseph Fries~ Chairman of the Water Board~ <br />to explain ~ater situation and to answer any questions asked. <br /> <br />Nayor Furnari asked Mr. Fries on water status and the probability of <br />hiring an Engineer to make a study of the Village water supply. <br />I~. Fries reported present Engineer is efficient and that test borings <br />cannot always find water supply. <br /> <br />Mr. Fries reported that the water board have hired the services of <br />gckerman~ knox Hayward and Pakan for Engineer work. <br /> <br />Resolution was read for test borings. Discussion followed on these <br />borings. <br /> <br />Ma~or Furnari called on Village Engineer~ Mr. Hayward~ to discuss <br />water situation. <br /> <br />Mr. Hayward discussed the annexation of property and the need for a <br />future source of water. He reported water pressure is low sometimes. <br />He stresse~ the necessity for a future source of water. He stated that <br />best source would be this side of Creek. He stressed need for storeage <br />of water and that water and storeage should adjoin one another. He <br />reported all action is dependant on new source of water and that the <br />Lane Co. has been hired tO'find this source. He explained work has <br />been difficult in that they are searching for a gravel base. He re- <br />ported one test well has struck water. He also reported latest test <br />well is largest and is located about ~O' away from existing well. <br /> <br />Tr. Napoleon asked if Village could withstand a 2~ or 30 percent in- <br />crease on present ~ater supply. Mr. Hayward reported that this increase <br />under normal conditions~ could be sustained by Village. Mr. Hayward <br />went on to explain that pumps should be rested and that wells do clog <br />and amount gets cut down. He reported there is always the hazard of <br />fire~ and pressure drops due to small lines. <br /> <br />Tr. Cheetham asked if wells would be located in Ward I and Mr. HaF~ard <br />said yes~ but their was a possibility of having a storage tank in Ward <br />3. This would increase pressure in this ward. Mr. Hayward discussed cir- <br />culation of wa~er between system and tank. He reported operative well <br />would have to come from gravel base. <br /> <br /> <br />
