A Special meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Sept. <br />3Oth., 1965, at 7:30 P.M., in the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br />Those present: Mayor Furnari, Tr. VanVoorhis, Tr. Temple, Tr. Bain, <br />Tr. DiDomizio, Tr. Napoleon, Attorney Pearse. Tr. Cheetham absent. <br /> <br />?urpose of the meeting to discuss lake problem and to act on resolut- <br />ion for the solution. <br /> <br />Mayor discussed problem and reported Village Board should be sole de- <br />ciders on problem. He reoommended the appointment of a committee to <br />study the lake problem, with the approval of the Board. <br /> <br />Tr. Napoleon reported Board shouldn't act on resolution tonight. <br /> <br />Mayor Furnari submittedothe following names to serve on lake committee <br />for consideration: Mr. ~ay Laffin, Mr. Francis Travis, Mr. Tom Marcojohn, <br />Mr. Ted Craft, Mr. Norman Borow,, Dr. Hannigan and Mr. Louis Diehl. <br />Tr. DiDo~izio suggested naming Mr. RaY Dolan to committee and was acc- <br />epted. Tr. Temple suggested naming Mr. Raymond Paggi also. <br /> <br />Attorney Pearse reported meeting with Mr. Whalen. He reported State <br />would supply most of the funds for the purchase of the lake. Mr. Whalen <br />to examine all things possible~ pertaining to title. He stated Mr. <br />Kayner has to decide on mortgage deeds and nothing canbe passed until <br />legal aspects are settled. This would take about 2 months. Mr. Kayner's <br />water restrictions were discussed. <br /> <br />Mayor Furnari reported he conferred with Comm. Biby and that Village <br />could purchase the lake under the same conditions as County, but not <br />less tha~ 2 acres or more than 25 acres. If Village purchased lake, <br />all rights would be controlled by the Village. <br /> <br />Tr. Napoleon repor6ed zGing ordinance has prevented any top soil being <br />taken from lake. <br /> <br />Question arose as to why study wasn't made before County had been app- <br />roached and what would stop Co~ty from purChasing lake first. Att. <br />Pearse reported Village has first option, orally. <br /> <br />Mayor Furnari reported he tried to have Mr. Kayner c~oSe the gate. He <br />then contacted Mr. pomerOy and got no helP. He then approached Mr. <br />Kayner on the purchase of the lake and Mr. Kayner set the price at <br />$100,0OO, He then contacted the Conservation Dept. and was referred to <br />Mr. Dyer, Land AcquistionOfficer. <br />Attorney Pearse reported question arose, Monday, as to where Mr. Kayner <br />woUld get water and this restricted action. Mr. Kayner would sign no <br />option until meeting with his attorney. <br /> <br />Tr. Napoleon suggested people living along lake shore should be contact- <br />ed bY a Public Hearing. Mr. Laffin suggested Village adopt option to <br />purchase lake. <br /> <br /> <br />
