231 <br /> <br /> A SpeCial Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on <br /> October 26th., 1965, at 7:30 P.M. in the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br /> Those present: Mayor Furnari~ Tr. VanVOorhis, Tr. DiDomizio, Tr. <br /> Cheetham., Tr. Napoleon~ Tr. Temple~ Tr. Bain. Mr. Fries and Mr. <br /> Feeney present from the Water Board. <br /> <br /> Purpose of the meeting was to answer requests to run water lines <br /> along Rt. 9. DisCussion followed on the possibility of putti~g.in <br /> water li~es at this time. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fries discussed th~ costs involved. He talked with Contract- <br /> or on a price estimate for an 8" line from Mr. DiMarco's property <br /> SlO ft. to New Hackensak Rd. Hereported Water Board couldn't do <br /> this work, in that it would have to be advertised and put out for <br /> bids. He reported not k~owing whether water lines could be install- <br /> ed as part of the sewer pro~ect. Private estimate would be $11.50 <br /> per ft. He discussed possibility of putting a water hydarant on Rt. <br /> 9~ and placing a "T" at the entmance of Walnut Dr. He reported water <br /> lines would be installed in same ditch as sewer, but about S or $ <br /> ft. above. Contractor suggested finishing sewer and going back to in- <br /> stall water lines. Mr. Fries reported w~ter lines could be installed <br /> at a cost of $7.50 per ft., exCluding hydrants and valves. He discuss- <br /> ed bonds for out of Village water. Mr. Fries stated it is against the <br /> law to sell water to rent payers and that water bills are sent to de- <br /> velopers. He reported water lines ShOUld be of 8" diameter and that <br /> both sides of ~t. 9 should be considered as one project. <br /> <br /> Letted was read fromMr. Russell Aldrich. Attorney Pear~e reported <br /> receiving a letter from Mr. Phillips and he answered same. DiScuSsion <br /> followed on proposed road in the annexed area the property owners <br /> obligations. Mr. Feeney questioned if water provisions were in the <br /> contract. AttOrneY Pearse discussed obligations of Village and property <br /> owners ever proposed sewer and water hook up in annexed areas. Property <br /> owners in annexed area want a municipal guarantee from Village complet- <br /> ion for a road in that area. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fries discussed condition of the Village's Water supply as to water <br /> table and the amount of water used bY local factories. He discussed <br /> new well and reported conditions favorable. DSiCUSSion followed ont <br /> the probability of a well on the Bleachery property. <br /> <br />Letter wa~ read from Mr. John Haubennestel~ concering Carmine'Dr., <br />in connection with Village facilities concer~ing sewer~ watery etc., <br /> and the issuance of a building permit. <br /> <br /> DiScussiOn followed as to whether Carmine dr. is a Village street or <br /> not. <br /> <br /> Mayor Furnari asked Board to consider an ordinance obligating property <br /> owners to take Care of sidewalks' Attorney Pearse to study this and ~ <br /> make recommendations as to procedure.. <br /> <br /> Mr. Haubennestel reported he will not issue Building Permit until <br /> Village Board studies Plans. <br /> <br /> <br />
