101 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Nov. ll. <br />1965, at 7:30 P.M. in the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br />Those present: Mayor Furnari~ Tr. VanVoorhis~ Tr. DiDomizio~ Tr. Temple~ <br />Tr. Bain~ Tr. Napoleon, Tr. Cheetham and Attorney Pearse. Mr. Feeney <br />represented the Water Board. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Napoleon and seconded by Tr. ,Cheetham to dispense with the <br />regular order of business to hear guests. Carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Frank Savelli addressed the Board seeking approval of the by-laws for <br />the Board of Appeals. He asked that Mr. Haubennestel be deputized. To be <br />tak~ up in the regular orders%of business. <br /> <br />Mr. A. Napoleon read a prepared statement to the Board. He reported a pet- <br />ition had been signed by about 200 taxpayers in Ward i and presented same <br />to the Town of Poughkeepsie Board. This concerned residents in Ward I pay- <br />ing'for the Town of Poughkeepsie dump. Petition was tnrned down. Mr. <br />Napoleon discussed cost of fill for Village dump and proposed that refuse <br />picke~ up in Ward I be dumped in the Town dump. He reported residents in <br />Ward 2 and 3 are paying more taxes to the Town of Wappinger than the res- <br />i~ents in Ward I are paying to the Town of Poughkeepsie. He discussed the <br />double taxation imposed on the residents and the need for State aid. He <br />proposed the Mayor appoint a committee to study this and to contact our <br />officials in Albany. Mr. Charles Miller, Mr. A. Napoleon~ Mr. Ray Dolan~ <br />and Tr. VanVoorhis to serve on committee. Mr. Raymond Dolan will act as <br />Chairman. Mayor Furnari to write our Washington and Albany .officials. <br /> <br /> Mr. John Haubennestel addressed the Board urging legal council be assigned <br /> to him as Zoning Enforcement Officer and reported serving notices on <br /> violators of the Zoning Ordinance. Attorney Pearse will serve as legal <br /> council. Mr. Frank Savelli urged that legal council be assigned to the Bd. <br /> of Appeals also. <br /> <br /> Motion by Tr. DiDomiziO and seconded by Tr. Bain that meeting return to <br /> the regular order of business. Carried. <br /> <br /> Minutes of last regular Village Board meeting were read by Clerk. <br /> Tr. Napoleon reported corrections were made on the first lO pages of the <br /> Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br /> Motion by Tr. DiDomizio and seconded by Tr. Bain that minutes be accepted <br /> as corrected.~ Carried. <br /> Minutes of a special meeting held on OCt. 26~ 1965~' were read by clerk. <br /> Minutes of a special meeting of the Village Board of Trustees held on <br /> Oct. 31~ 196~, were read by Clerk. <br /> <br /> Motion by Tr. DiDomizio and Seconded by Tr. Bain that minutes of special <br /> meetings be accepted as read. Carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hayward and Mr. Cagnazolla~ of the Lane Co.~ addressed the Board on <br /> the water situation. <br /> <br /> <br />
