The regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on April <br />15, 1965 at 7:30 P.M, in the Nosier Homestead. <br /> <br />Those present: Mayor F~rnarl, Tr. VanVoorhls, Tr. DiDomlzio, Tr. Templ$, <br />Tr. Bain, Tr. Napoleon, Tr. Cheetham and Att. Pearse <br /> <br />· Motion by.Tr. Napoleon and seconded by Tr. Cheeth~m to dispense with <br /> the regular.order of business. Carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Furnarl read a request from Brookslde-Gardens and MesleF Ave res- <br />idents asking that the buffer strip restriction in that area be dhanged <br />to 50 ft. <br /> <br /> Mr. DiMarco, spokesman for the group, addressed the Board, stating that <br /> he Didn't know the buffer strip restriction was 12 ft. u~tll after zon- <br /> ing ordinance had been adoptedand requested it be changed to 50 ft., <br /> to protect property ~owners. Mr. Perrone discussed the carelessness of <br /> business owners in the area, in contrast to the interests of private <br /> property owners. Mr. John Kerins discussed the problem of an open ditch <br /> in that area and ds_mage done to properSy by the flow of water. This <br /> request to be taken up in the regular order oB business. <br /> <br /> Mr. -Clarence Carr, resident of Nelson Ave., addressed the Board, concer~ <br /> lng a water shut-off and the location of same. He stated valve used to <br /> be two ft. from his property line, but now is in road, due to traffic. <br /> Highway Comm. to check same and mske recommendations. <br /> <br /> Mayor Furnarl read a letter from Mr. Charles Flnnerman concerning a Pl- <br /> anned development on Rt. 9 and Heeler Ave. Mr. Finnerman addressed the <br /> Board stating he has had this property for some time but has held back <br /> on plans. He reported building plans are in the hands of architect, whMah <br /> would include a Dutchess Bank & Trust Co. & various other stores, which <br /> wouldn'-t be obnoxious to the neighborhood. He stated-area would require <br /> sewer & water and that screenings have been made to comply with zoning <br /> requirements. Diecusslo~ followed on entrances-and exits to this project <br /> and whether this area is zoned commercial or residential. Mr. Pa~l <br /> stat§d the erection of the Dutchess Bank and no other stores would be <br /> sufficient in the area. Site Plans aren't .available to the Planning Bd. <br /> and this has to be considered by them before any action can be taken. <br /> Mr. Morltl Vrooman and Mr. Robert Sherman addressed the Board asking <br /> that they be considered for the position of Engineers for the Village. Mr <br /> Vrooman presented letter to the Mayor & Trustees and discussed his En- <br /> gineering firm of which they primarily specialize in sewer end water. <br /> He reported on other projects his firm has worked on and Mr. Sherman <br /> would be area representative operating out of LaGrangevllle. Discussion <br /> followed on the possibility of State fun~s for sewer surveys. Mayor <br /> Furnari thanked both men for their report and that they would be con- <br /> sidere4 for this position if and when V-111age hires another Engineer. <br /> Mot.ion by Tr.
