The regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on April 15, 1965 at 7:30 P.M, in the Nosier Homestead. Those present: Mayor F~rnarl, Tr. VanVoorhls, Tr. DiDomlzio, Tr. Templ$, Tr. Bain, Tr. Napoleon, Tr. Cheetham and Att. Pearse · Motion by.Tr. Napoleon and seconded by Tr. Cheeth~m to dispense with the regular.order of business. Carried. Mayor Furnarl read a request from Brookslde-Gardens and MesleF Ave res- idents asking that the buffer strip restriction in that area be dhanged to 50 ft. Mr. DiMarco, spokesman for the group, addressed the Board, stating that he Didn't know the buffer strip restriction was 12 ft. u~tll after zon- ing ordinance had been adoptedand requested it be changed to 50 ft., to protect property ~owners. Mr. Perrone discussed the carelessness of business owners in the area, in contrast to the interests of private property owners. Mr. John Kerins discussed the problem of an open ditch in that area and ds_mage done to properSy by the flow of water. This request to be taken up in the regular order oB business. Mr. -Clarence Carr, resident of Nelson Ave., addressed the Board, concer~ lng a water shut-off and the location of same. He stated valve used to be two ft. from his property line, but now is in road, due to traffic. Highway Comm. to check same and mske recommendations. Mayor Furnarl read a letter from Mr. Charles Flnnerman concerning a Pl- anned development on Rt. 9 and Heeler Ave. Mr. Finnerman addressed the Board stating he has had this property for some time but has held back on plans. He reported building plans are in the hands of architect, whMah would include a Dutchess Bank & Trust Co. & various other stores, which wouldn'-t be obnoxious to the neighborhood. He stated-area would require sewer & water and that screenings have been made to comply with zoning requirements. Diecusslo~ followed on entrances-and exits to this project and whether this area is zoned commercial or residential. Mr. Pa~l stat§d the erection of the Dutchess Bank and no other stores would be sufficient in the area. Site Plans aren't .available to the Planning Bd. and this has to be considered by them before any action can be taken. Mr. Morltl Vrooman and Mr. Robert Sherman addressed the Board asking that they be considered for the position of Engineers for the Village. Mr Vrooman presented letter to the Mayor & Trustees and discussed his En- gineering firm of which they primarily specialize in sewer end water. He reported on other projects his firm has worked on and Mr. Sherman would be area representative operating out of LaGrangevllle. Discussion followed on the possibility of State fun~s for sewer surveys. Mayor Furnari thanked both men for their report and that they would be con- sidere4 for this position if and when V-111age hires another Engineer. Mot.ion by Tr. VanVoorhls and seconded by tr. Bain that meeting return to the regular order of business. Carried.
