The regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on <br />July 14, 1965 at 7:80 P.M. in the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br />Those present: Mayor Furnari, Tr. VauVoorhis, Tr. DiDomizio, <br />Tr. Temple, Tr. Bain, Tr. Che ..tham, Tr. Napoleon and Att. <br />McDonald. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. VanVoorhis and seconded by Tr. Bain to dispense <br />with the regular order of business. Carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Filer of the General Clark Co. discussed features of a street <br />sweeper and garbage truck which Village is contemplating buying. <br />He stated truck, which is completely hydraulic, has larger pay- <br />loader e~nd features durability and safety. He reported street <br />sweeper is reconditioned and warranted. Mr. Berinato reported <br />street sweeper works well and suggested a 17 yard garbmge truck, <br />which would run $18,800 with tax. Mayor Furnari thanked Mr. Filer <br />for his report. <br /> <br />Mr. Arnold Checchini, 136 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, N. Y. add- <br />ressed the Board stating this is the first year he is l~aying Village <br />taxes and reported discrepency between Village and Town taxes as <br />to size of property. Clerk directed to contact Assessor Greco con- <br />cerning this. <br /> <br />Mr. Joseph Worona, attorney for Nicholas and Venzi Campilii, 18 <br />Moran Ave., Nappingers Falls, N. Y. served claim against Village <br />of Wappingers Falls for recovery to property damage as well as <br />mental pain, c~sed by a sewer problem. Claim is muswerable with- <br />in 30 days. This problem to be discussed in the regular order <br />of business. <br /> <br />Mr. J~k Kerns, 6 Brookside Dr., addressed the Board complaining <br />of a flooding condition which exists on his property due to the <br />clearing of the Finnerman property. Mr. Kerns displayed pictures <br />showing this condition. Tr. Napoleon reported t~is condition <br />occurs due to the excavation of trees on the Finnerman property. <br />Fire Chief Cinelli reported Mr. Finnerman has permit to burn trees. <br />Mr. Kelley, Engineer, suggested advising planning Board of this <br />condition. Att. McDonald reported this is a suit between two pro- <br />perty owners and should be decided in the Courts. Mr. Haubennestel <br />reported temporary p~rmit had been granted Mr. Finnerman and that <br />no pl~s have been submitted to the pl~.nning Board as yet. This <br />to be taken up-in the regular order of business. <br /> <br />Letter was read from Mr. Norman Grant, attorney of William and <br />Amelia Crosby, 10 Veterans Pl., Nappingers Falls, N. Y., concerning <br />agreement made by the Village for their easement. Certain con- <br />ditions such as grading and excess water haven't been complied <br />with. Mr. Hayward to be notified of these conditions. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Napoleon and seconded by Tr. VamVoorhis that meeting <br />return to the regular order of business.
