The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Mesier Homestead on Tuesday Jan. 5, 1960 at 7:3Q P.M. Those present at roll call were, Mayor McCloskey Trustee's GalluCci, Silvwstri, Berinato, Canale, Sanfllippo, also Treas. Mcgonald, Atty. Schofield and Prof. Pearse. Meeting was called to order and the minutes of the regular meeting was read Upon motion by Trustee Gallucci, seconded by Trustee Sllvestri the minutes were accepted as read. Carried. The Mayor told the board of the hearing on the ordance for the six stop signs in the Village. There were 20 people present, after some discussion, is was agreed that the s%gn stay where they were placed for a period of one year. A Claim was received from Mr. Feilding Brown of the Village, The clerk was t~ld to give same tb our insurance carrier to process. Mr. Ackerman, Eng. on the Sewer Ext. project, was asked to get in touch with the Mid. County Const. Co.. in reference to the condition of the street , on Mesier Ave. Ext. Mr~ Ackerman, of the Schuerman &~ Ackerman Eng., Eng. on the Sewage Treatment plant and the Sewer Ext. System. gave the following reports. 1. The contract for the construction of the sewage treatment plant by ~obert Young Const. ~o., Inc. is practically complete. the remaining work consists of a minor adjustment to the equipment inthe new settling tank, replacement of a faulty electrial lead, setting thermostats in final locations and lowering a small water pipe. The grit chamber and settling tank have been in service for several days; the chlorination apparatus was operated for a few hours to check the installation. We feel that the chlorinator will be in operation only during summer droughts when the flow in Wappingers Creek is less than 25 or 30 ~ubic feet per second. not We have received a requisition from the Contractor since Nov- ember 1st. at which time, the value of the work done was $13B,082.25. Of that amount~ 15% is retained until final acceptance and payments therefore have been made in the amount of $113,119.91. Since Nov- ember let, the value of work done has increased to approximately $135,575., which amount is substantially 100% of the total expected cost. The final total will exceed the base bid for which the con- tract was awarded by about $ $,900. The extra costs represent an over-run in the estimated rock excavation, cost of additional fill matieral required by a necessary change in location of the contact tank,additional grading and fencing to provide more security against vandalism. 2. The construction contract for addition to the sewer system by Mid County Construction Co. is nearing completion. Re-paving work ex- cept for a small amount done before the onset of cold weather, is to be deferred until spring and there are two short lateral connec- tions remaining to be installed in givens Avenue. The Contractor's statement for December work has not been received to date. Prior to December $, 1959, the value of the work done amounted to $56,265.60 and payments for 85% of this amount have bee~ made. The value of the work done during December is expected to be approximately $8~500.~ and the balance of the pavement restoration will be approximately $2,300. ~he total contract cost probably will be about $ 3000., less than the base bid proposal. MOst of this difference is accounted for in the total actual rock excavation- about 920 cubic yards actual, versus 1220 cubic yards the estimated
