<br /> The regular meeting of the Village Board was held at the Mesier
<br /> Homestead on Sept. 5,1961 ~t 7:30 P.M.
<br /> Those pres nt- yor Mc los ey. Trustee s Rainy, VenVoor is,
<br /> Silvestrt, Fitzpatrick, Canale, also Treas. Mc onald, an~t~~ofield.
<br /> A motion by Trustee Silvestri, seconded by Trustee VanVoorhis to
<br /> dispence with the reading of the last regular meeting minutes was
<br /> carried.
<br /> Mr. Nelson , a representive of Central Hudson Gas &'Electric
<br /> ~orp. on request of the Lighting ~ommittee Chairman, came before the
<br /> Board to discuss the new contract his Company had sent to the Village.
<br /> He told the board that the new contract would show an increase of
<br />'$2.00 for any future installations. He told the Board that in. this
<br /> contract for 1961-62 that an increase of $161.00 for the.1961 year
<br /> as this is only a half year. That for the year 1962 we would have
<br /> an increase of $$85.~0. Trustee Canale, Chairman of the Light ~ommittee,
<br /> told the board that the installation of lights that had just been completed
<br /> was not charged to the Village under the new increase. The contract was
<br /> given to the Attorney, to cheek over and upon his retun and approval,
<br /> the contract would be signed by the Mayor and returned to Central Hudson.
<br /> Mr Wm. ~omery, and Mr. Walt Maler, of South Ave Village, on
<br /> subject of fixing curb in front of their, home, so that they can get into
<br /> their driveway, without doing damage to their cars. This matter to
<br /> be looked into by the Highway ~ommtttee Chairman, and Supt'. of Public
<br /> Works, their findings to be reported back to the board.
<br /> Mr DiZillo, came before the board to find out why his sign
<br /> which was on West Main St. was taken down. The Mayor told him that he
<br /> had it taken down because where it was placed, it was dangorus, and
<br /> a traffic hazzard.
<br />
<br /> A motion by Trustee Canale, seconded by Trustee Silvestri, to
<br />return to the regular order of business was carried.
<br />
<br /> Comm.
<br /> A letter from a Mrs Sella, of West St., for permission to
<br /> break curbing for a drivway, this was turned over to the Highway
<br /> Comm.
<br /> A letter from a Mrs. Adams, Downey ave, on sidewalk, that
<br />needs fixing in front of her home, this was turned over to the
<br />Highway Comm.
<br /> Bond for Street openings from Central Hudson Gas Electric ~o.
<br /> was ordered filed.
<br /> Letter from S.W. Johnson Enegine ~o, on new members, as follows,
<br /> Robert Taylor, Dennis Craig_Nick Catalano Jr, Henry Hughes,
<br /> John Scianna, John Sldoti, On motion of Trustee Silve~tri, seconded
<br /> by Trustee Fitzpatrick the above named man were accepted by the board
<br /> as active members, carried. Henry Hughes, was not accepted by the
<br /> board, until the atty. answer the question on his living out of
<br /> town, and the legality of his being an active member,
<br /> Police Justice report for the month of ~ugust 1961 for the
<br /> sum of $ 195.00. A motion by Trustee Silvestri, seconded by Trustee
<br /> Fitzpatrlck~ to accept the report as read was carried.
<br /> A letter from the Beacon lodge of the Elks, for permission
<br /> to hold a block dance for the Young' peopleFOf the Village. ~ motion
<br /> by Trustee Silvestri, seconded by Trustee itzpatr~ck, to grant the
<br /> permis~ion to the ~lks, was carried.
<br /> A Letter of resignation from Edward Craft, Chairman of
<br /> the recreation Comm., on motion of Trustee Canale,
