The regular meeting ~f the Village Boar~ was held at the <br />Mesier Homestead on Jan. 9,1967 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> Those present; Mayor McCloskey, Trustee's, Reilly, VanVoor- <br />his, Silvestrl, Temple~ Canale, Treas. McDonald, and Prof. Peal <br /> for Atty. Schoffeld. <br /> Absent; Trustee.Fitzpatrick <br /> <br /> The minutes of the last regular meeting were read, and on <br />motion of Trustee Sllvestrf, seconded by Trustee VanVoorhis <br />the mind, tea were accepted as read. carried. <br /> <br /> A motion by Trustee Silvestri, seconded hy Trustee Reill <br />to dispence with the regular order of business was carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. James Delaney~ representing the Non-teaching Persona <br />Association, of the Wappingers Centra~ School District, re- <br />quested the use of the Garner Engine Vo. ~irehouse~ for a <br />meeting of the ~ssociation on Jan. 16,1962 at 8:30 P.M. <br />A motion by Truatee Silvestri, seconded by TruateeeVenVoorhi~ <br />to grant permission for use of fire house, if same was place( <br />in order and cleaned when meeting was over. carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert Anderson, Eng. of Garner Eng. Co., came <br />before the board in reference to a .letter sent ta th, Co. <br />by the Fire Chief, in reference to checking into the Gas <br />used ~ the tmuck for one month. Mr. Anderson, gave an <br />accounting of the galage used. The Mayor told Mr. Anderson~ <br />that after he had checked on the gas usemge, he should have <br />made a report to the chief, and that this should have been <br />settled between them. <br /> <br /> A Committee, from the Garner Eng. Co. , approched the <br />board on their renovating the basement of the Firehouse. <br />They showed the board a drawing of what they wanted to do. <br />They said that it would cost about $1500.00, They asked the <br />board if they would consider placing some of this cost into <br />the budget for 1962-6B. They also asked fnr approval of the <br />board on their undertaking. The Board told them that they <br />would consider this when making the budget, but would not <br />promise them any financial help in this matter. <br /> A motion by Trustee Temple, seconded by Trustee VanVoorhis~ <br />to allow them to go ahead with the approvement, as per plan <br /> under the supervision of the Fire Committee Chairman. <br /> carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Raymond Dolan, West Main St., Village, asked the <br />Board, for information, on what was being built or placed <br /> on the Village property, behind his home. He was told <br />that a playground, and iceskating rink wa~ebeing placed <br /> there. The Mayor told Mr Dolan, that he had contacted <br /> the Town of Poughkeepsie, and that they were puting in <br /> a small skating rink, at their expense, and unde~ their <br /> direction, and respon~ablty. Trustee Temple, and Si!vestrl <br /> stated that th~ Trustee's did not know of this, and they <br /> felt that the Mayor should have contacted all t~ Truste~' <br /> on this matter before Eiving the Town permission to go on <br /> with this project. <br /> <br />275 <br /> <br /> <br />
