The regular meeting ~f the Village Boar~ was held at the Mesier Homestead on Jan. 9,1967 at 7:30 P.M. Those present; Mayor McCloskey, Trustee's, Reilly, VanVoor- his, Silvestrl, Temple~ Canale, Treas. McDonald, and Prof. Peal for Atty. Schoffeld. Absent; Trustee.Fitzpatrick The minutes of the last regular meeting were read, and on motion of Trustee Sllvestrf, seconded by Trustee VanVoorhis the mind, tea were accepted as read. carried. A motion by Trustee Silvestri, seconded hy Trustee Reill to dispence with the regular order of business was carried. Mr. James Delaney~ representing the Non-teaching Persona Association, of the Wappingers Centra~ School District, re- quested the use of the Garner Engine Vo. ~irehouse~ for a meeting of the ~ssociation on Jan. 16,1962 at 8:30 P.M. A motion by Truatee Silvestri, seconded by TruateeeVenVoorhi~ to grant permission for use of fire house, if same was place( in order and cleaned when meeting was over. carried. Mr. Robert Anderson, Eng. of Garner Eng. Co., came before the board in reference to a .letter sent ta th, Co. by the Fire Chief, in reference to checking into the Gas used ~ the tmuck for one month. Mr. Anderson, gave an accounting of the galage used. The Mayor told Mr. Anderson~ that after he had checked on the gas usemge, he should have made a report to the chief, and that this should have been settled between them. A Committee, from the Garner Eng. Co. , approched the board on their renovating the basement of the Firehouse. They showed the board a drawing of what they wanted to do. They said that it would cost about $1500.00, They asked the board if they would consider placing some of this cost into the budget for 1962-6B. They also asked fnr approval of the board on their undertaking. The Board told them that they would consider this when making the budget, but would not promise them any financial help in this matter. A motion by Trustee Temple, seconded by Trustee VanVoorhis~ to allow them to go ahead with the approvement, as per plan under the supervision of the Fire Committee Chairman. carried. Mr. Raymond Dolan, West Main St., Village, asked the Board, for information, on what was being built or placed on the Village property, behind his home. He was told that a playground, and iceskating rink wa~ebeing placed there. The Mayor told Mr Dolan, that he had contacted the Town of Poughkeepsie, and that they were puting in a small skating rink, at their expense, and unde~ their direction, and respon~ablty. Trustee Temple, and Si!vestrl stated that th~ Trustee's did not know of this, and they felt that the Mayor should have contacted all t~ Truste~' on this matter before Eiving the Town permission to go on with this project. 275
