The regular meeting of the Vdl!age Board was held at the <br />Mesier Homestead on March 6,1962 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> Those present~ Mayor McCloskey, Trustee , Reilly, Van$oor <br />his, Temple, Fitzpatrick, Treas. Mcdonald, Atty. Schofield. <br /> Absent; Trustee S~lvestri, Canale. <br /> The minutes of the last regular meeting were read, and <br />on motion of Trustee Retlly, seconded by Trustee Fitzpatrick <br />the minutes were accepted as read. carried. <br /> A motion by Trustee R.illy, seconded by Trustee Fitzpatr <br />to dispence with the reguiar order of business was carried. <br /> <br /> ~. Fries, Water Board Chairman came before the Board t¢ <br />talk on the water softner, and the need to enlarge the <br />softner plant He told board that ther had been about <br />$5000. ~pent gn salt ~n processing to soften water, and tha~ <br />with the present set up~ we were not getting our value <br />out of t~ present softner plant. Mr Fries stated that the <br /> estamated cost for this project would be $24,000. He said <br /> the Water Board felt t~ey co~ld take care of about'half the <br /> cost~ from excess f~nds~ r~st cou].d b- on a Bond issue. <br /> He also stated that in the near future the Village would <br /> ne-d more storage space on the Town of Wapp~ng~rs s~de <br /> of'the bridge. Mr. A~kerman, ~illage Eng. on this project, <br /> then backed up Mr. ~ries Statements~ and a<~ded that with <br /> this done: and both sofhner workin~ we could nroduce soft <br /> wat~,r up to 1,OOO,O00 gal per day. after sc~e questions~ <br /> and d~scussion by the Board me~bers, it was tabled until <br /> the board .returned to the regular order of business. <br /> <br /> Mr. Foster, of ~Oster Bros. Const.~came before the <br />board to talk about putting in of a gas tank for the Villag, <br />This was requested by the Board. He state~ that he felt <br />the Village would need a ~000 gal tank, to take ca.re, of the <br />Police Dept., Highway etc. the price for tank and pump <br />installed was , tank ~28~.00, Pump $W34.00, the compl,te <br /> price of the job $1265.00, after some suestton and <br />discussion on this matter~ the board also tabled this until <br />regular order of business. <br /> Mr. R. Laffin , Laffin Pl. came before board asking <br /> them to help him by plowing, Laffin Pl., private property, <br /> on real heavy snow storus. The Atty. was asked about the <br /> of this, he told board that they could not do 'it,~n!ess <br /> some agreement could be reached by all living their <br /> clearing the Village of liability. This was also tabled <br /> until Regular order of Business <br /> Jim ODell, FireChief, New Hamburg, spoke to board <br /> on fire alarm system betwaen four neighbering towns, <br /> after discussion on this it too was tabled till regular <br /> order of business. <br /> The Cit~zen Band Club~ Radio Mobil Service, asked <br /> the board if they could get a Village Building to m~t <br /> in once a month: about 30 menbers.~ this was also tabled <br /> until regular order of business, after some discussion <br /> this matter. <br /> <br />A motion by Trustee VanVoorhis seconded by Trustee <br />Fitzpatrick, to ~eturn to the regular order of business <br />was carried. <br /> <br />The tabled matters~ of above were all put over <br /> <br />lek <br /> <br />hat <br /> <br />egality <br /> <br /> <br />
