The Annual me~t~ng of the Board of Trustees was held at ~he M~s~er Homestead on Monday April 2,1962 at ?:~0 P.M. Those present- Mayor McC!oskey, Tru~t~e's~ Cbeetha~n, VanVoorbis, Silv~stri~ Temple, FitZpatrick, Canale.. Meeting was called to order by Mayor McCloskey; who announced the object of the meeting was for the purpose of making the a~nual appointments and a~y other business that may be on the Village docket for this meeting. Clerk Weit, announced that the officers elected at the previous election have been duly sworn in and filed their affidavit in compliance with section 59 of ~he Village law Motion ~y TrusteeYanVoornis~ secon~ by Trustee Temple, That the First National Bank of Poughkeepsie, Wappingers Falls Branch, be adopted as depository of Village funds, carried. Fitzp h~ u eW ~ News, be adopted as the official paper for Village notices, also that the Beacon News, or Poughkeepsie New Yorker~ may be used for offic- ial notices ~ between printings of the Wappingers paper. carried. Motion by Trustee Silvestri, seconded by Trustee Canale, the VillaEe adopt day-light saving plan if the county adopts the same~ carried Motion by Trustee Temple, seconded by Trustee Silvestri, the compensation for inspectors of election be the same as last year, and the election custodians be paid $~0.00 . carried. Motion by Trustee Temple, seconded by Trustee Fitzpatrick~ that the working foreman, laborer be given a twenty-five cent raise ocr hour. the Temp. laborer to be paid $1.75 per hr. A new laborer to serve for a 6 mos. prbationary period at the rate of $1.95 per hour. ~ voted for motion~ three voted against, motion was carried. Motion by Trustee Canale, seconded by Trustee Cheetham that the Police Dept. be given a $150.00 raise per year. Motion by Trustee Temple, seconded by Trustee Fitzpatrick that the Police Dept. be given a ~00.00 raise per year. After some discussion on this matter, the Mayor called for a vote on the first motion~ four voted for the ~otion, no~e voting against. At this time Trustee Temple stated that he had voted wrong, and asked Trustee Canale and Che~tham to recind their motion. After some discuss Trustee Canale ,recinded his motion. The Mayor called fo~ a roll call vote on the second motion, Voting for- Tr~stee's VanVoorhis, Silvestri, Temple~ Fitzpatrick, Voting against~ Trustee's Che~tham~ Canale~ and Mayor McCloskey, W voting for ~ voting against, motion was carried. Motion by Trustee Cheetham, seconded by Trustee .Canale, that the Spec. Police, receive $2.00 per hr. was carried. on 289
