264 <br /> The Regular meeting of the Board of Trust~es was held at the ~esier Hom~ <br />stead on Wednesday Evening, July ?th. I948 at 7;30 P.M. <br /> <br />Those Present; Trustee Feeney,Riley, Goebel,Berinato,Terwilliger, Mayor ' <br />Temple, Treas. LeRoy. Absent. Trustee Sidote and Atty. Schofield. <br /> <br />M~eting called to order. Roll call. The minutes of the previous regular <br />meeting were read. Upon motion by Trustee Riley and seconded by Trustee <br />Ye~ney the minutes stand adopted as read. <br />M~yor Temple announced the reo~ar order of business will be dispensed wi~h <br />in order to hear from those present who wishes to speak before the members <br />of the Board. <br /> <br />Mrs. Geo. Minard of East ~fain Street approach the Board in regards to <br />necting the sewer to her property on East ~A%in ~treet. Chairman Goebel of <br />the sewer committee ~ePOrted that Mr. Michael District Enginee~ for the <br />state dept. of Highways was down to check over the situation. It w~s <br />the opinion of the board that the village sewer main is on the opposite <br />side of the highway and it was up to ~rs. Minamd to have a license plUmbe~ <br />to get permission from the ~state highway Dept. ~o run the service main fr~m <br />her property to the village main as accordir~ to the law the property <br />eM is suppose to stand the expense of th~ service main to the village ~i~. <br />M~, Loren Seoo=e of Mill Street approached the Board in regards to enter-~ <br />ir~g a complaints about the motorists speeding over Mill street and ignc=i~g <br />tee Boulevard "Stop" signs and endangering the lives of children. He sug- <br />gested that the police patrol ~his street and arres~ the violators. <br /> <br /> G~ene Hentz accompanied by a delegation of youngsters from Mill ~tree~ <br /> p~etltioned the Board for a place to play base ball as they cannot play <br />the streets and they will not let them play on the bleachery diamond. The <br /> members of the Board suggested why no~ clear ~he weeds and make a ball <br /> field on the land by the old ice house at the end of Mill Street. they <br /> replied tha't their is a lot ~of trees on this property. Mayor Temple <br /> vised them that probably next yearn the boy's will have a place to play 'if <br /> the ~axpayers vote for the new park. <br /> <br />The regular order of Business was again taken ~p as recorded. <br /> <br />Tr'easurer LeRoy reported that the tax collection was very good this' year <br />aS out of the amount of $ 53,400.00 ~bout $ 2700.00 remains uncollected <br />th~ present date. <br /> <br />~2~95. A communicatioh was read from the Lady of Mount Carmel ~ociety of <br />the village requesting permission to allow the band to play about an hour <br />in the Village park on July ITth. and then march up to DeLavergne Avenue <br />to the Mt. Alvernia p~operty where they will conduct a baZaar, also ~eque-I <br />st permission to set ~off a couple of harmless day bombs within the village <br />limits. Motion by Tr~ustee Feeney and seconded by Trustee Goebel permiss- <br />ion be granted to hold the concert in the park and also to parade up West <br />Main Street and permission also be granted to set off a couple of Harmless <br />day bombs of which they are to assr, me the responsibility. <br /> <br />$ 249~. Dr. O'Brien H~alth officer submitted the following report for the <br />month of June. Th~- measles outbreak which started in April continued durin <br />most of the month of June. There were 15 cas~s reported during the month <br />the c. asem were mo. derat~ely ~ever~e with few con~olications.
