Chairman Savelll called the meeting to order 7:30 p.m.
As there were no minutes from the last meeting, Chairman Savelli stated that the first item
on the agenda would be a public hearing at the request of Jee Edwards & Ray Harpe, 27 Spring
Street, Village, seeking to convert a 2 family residence into a 4 family residence at that
location.
Secretary read the Notice of Appeal, Legal Notice as It appeared in the Southern Outchess
News, letter from Dutchess County Dep,. of Planning which stated they had no objection add
the Village Planning Board stating they do not objec, to three units but ,hey do object to
four.
Chairman asked Secretary If all within 200 feet were notified and she replied yes.
Mrs. Roseann Goebel,25 Spring St., stated that ~be knew of 2 or 3 people who did not receive
ene~
Secretary explained to Mrs. Goebel, that even though they were not notified, the hearing
Is legal, according to the Zoning Ordinance and if they were aware of the hearlng and if
they wanted to attend, they could, as It is open to the public.
Chairman Savelli then asked Messrs. Edwards & Harpe to present their case.
Mr. Harpe stated that two rooms are not done. The closing is this week and they cannot use
the house as it is. They would be losing money.
Chairman Savelli asked about parking and Mr. Edwards stated they 6 spaces, not counting the
driveway.
Zoning Enforcement Officer Haubennestel read into the record various subjects the Board
should consider before making their decision. Copy of same appended to original minutes.
Chairman Savelli then asked if anyone wished to be heard.
Mrs. Roeeann Goebel, 25 Spring St., stated they did quite a lot of consteuction and upgrading
to their premises. Parking is a problem. She does not want to see a parking lot next door
to her. It is very difficult to get in and out the driveways now. She has been a vlllage
resident 34 yrs. (all her life), and quite frankly she feels that consideration should be
given to the village philosophy - one family homes. An apartment in a family owned home
Is not objectionable, as they may need Income. If we go beyond this, we w&ll Icse the
village.
