<br />Chairman Savelll called the meeting to order 7:30 p.m.
<br />He requested a motion to dispense with the reading of the minutes and to approve same
<br />as written and forwarded to all Board members by mail.

<br />Chairman Savelli stated that the first order of business on the agenda would be a public
<br />hearing at the request of Dorothy A. Toback, 23 Carter Avenue, Newburgh, New York,
<br />seeking ~ variance to add an addition business and also relief from parking at 91 East
<br />l~ain Street, Village.
<br />Secretary read the Notice of Appel; Legal Notice as it appeared in the Southern Dutchess
<br />f!ews: letter from Dutchess County Dept. of Planning which stated that the decision should
<br />be based on local study of facts in the case; and a letter from Donald Lockwood , 89
<br />East Main Street, opposing the variance due to parking.
<br />Mrs. Dorothy A. Toback, 28 Carter..Avenue, Newburgh, New York, addressed the Board. She .
<br />stated that there are a total of $ rooms. There is a hypnotist in the building now and
<br />she is not realizing any profit. She stated that she would rent to a professional that
<br />would have appointments ~nly. She realizes that there is minimal parking and there is
<br />parking in the rear of the building.
<br />Chairman Savelli questioned whether she would be changing the building and Mrs. Toback
<br />replied no.
<br />Mrs. Toback also stated that you could pull 4 or 5 cars in the back.
<br />Zoning Officer Haubennestel stated that this was a doctor's office prior to zoning
<br />Dr. Toback came in after the zoning ordinance went into effect. He scheduled appoint-
<br />ments so that the area was not too congested. Off-street parking is requlred for an
<br />O~ District (4spaces). When the hypnotist is conducting his services the street is
<br />crowded. If a new use is allowed, office street parking must be a requirement.
<br /> Zoning Officer Haubennestel stated that the curve is dangerous and the Police Dept.
<br /> should be questioned as to their thoughts on an additional business being allowed.
