Mesier Ave., Village <br />Angel Caballero, 6 Scenic Dri, Wappingers Falls N.Y. <br />Rose Brosdbeck, Clapp Ave., Village <br /> <br />Chairman Smvelli called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m., requested a motion <br />to dispense from the reading of the minutes and to approve same as w~itten <br />and previously mailed to all members. Ail in favor, motion carried, Minutes <br />approved. <br /> <br />Chairman Savelli stated the first item on the agenda: <br />an appearance by Edwax~ Knapp from Conifer Realty seeking a variance to erect a <br />pylon sign on Rte 9, Village. Secretary re~d the notice of appeal and legal <br />notice. Mr Enapp w~s sworn in an proceeded to propose an area. va~lance'in2tead <br />of ah eight variance. Origina~ plans were shown with the intent to shrink the <br />height of the sign 8' x 4'x 17" with 4' clearance from the g~ade to the <br />bottom of the sign. This is needed Because of visibility on Rte. 9. Pictmrea <br />were passed a~ound to the Board members. It was explained that there <br />be a stationary fixed sign on hinged mechanism, solid not flashing,,timed to <br />go off at 10 p.m.. The sign would be 8 feet from the proposed state read. <br />Rudy Breglia professed a safety concern as far as traffic. Discussion ensued <br />about the bank existing so that cars were unlikely to plow into the <br />Edwaxd Knapp stated that Monro Muffler needs 47 sq. ft., Auto Spa 6~ ~.f£t., <br />and Gi~raltar needs 2 sq. ft. variance or a5 18% variance. <br />Discussion included the fa~t that they have until ~a~ch 12 to hear from the <br />Dutchess County Planning~ nothing offici&l can be given tonight; the Board <br />cannot vote but will discuss. <br />M.r Knapp ex~ressed concern because of the fact that with only one entrance <br />people would not see the various businesses, especially those at the end. <br />Discussion tabled.since the Zoning Board of Appeals has to hear from the County. <br />Mr. Knapp also stated that it would be a hardship to reduce the signs to a <br />non standard size. (The standard sizes are 4' x 8' and 6' x 10') <br />Conifer will be notified after April 7, 1987. Files and pictures were left. <br />The general opinion was favorable. Adjourned and tabled at 8:00 p.m./ <br /> <br />Executive 2ession.;at 8:05 p.m. <br />Meeting resumed at 8:20 p.m. <br /> <br />The next item on the agenda was an appeaz~uce by ~ugel Caballero who was <br />present and sworn in. Attorney Stenger stated the problem with procedures. <br />Variance is requested in a CB district and laundromats are only permitted in <br />a GB district. <br />The special use permit does not apply here because $h$ use is not allowed <br />to begxn wx~n. He stated three import&nt problems {a) the wrong procedure <br />is being used and the action would be null. Someone could bring Mr. Caballero <br /> <br /> <br />
