W~PPINGER~ FALLS <br />The only business on the agenda was the application of Mr. <br />and Mrs. A1 Contelmo, 3 North Street, seeking a variance to <br />be able to put two families on an undersized lot at the above <br />address. Secretary read legal notice as inserted in the <br />Februa~7 21 edition of the Southern Dutchess News and Notice <br />of Appeal ~2-90. Secretary advised that all property owners <br />within a 200 feet radius from subject property were furnished <br />a copy of the legal notice and ~atchess County Department of <br />Planning responded to the zoning referz~al with a "Matter of <br />local concern" comment. <br /> <br />Mr. Dan Contelmo representing his parents stated t~]at the <br />reason why his father is requesting the variance is because <br />he is retiri,]g next month a,]d he needs t~e extra income t]~e <br />apartment will generate. Mr. Contelmo stated he will not <br />change the stl'ucture of tile house. It is already a raised <br />~anch and already has bedrooms on the lower level. ~]e only <br />t2~ing it needs is a kitchen and the bathroom needs to have a <br />shower installed. Nothing on tbe exterior would change. <br /> <br />The Board estimated that the square footage of the aparta]ent <br />would be 1200 sq. ~eet. The size of tile lot is 7500 sq. ft. <br />Mr. Rogler asked the question of where the ext~-a people would <br />par): t]leir cars? There is a two car garage on the property <br />and also a strip off t~]e road which is 11 feet from the l-cad <br />itself. It is an existin§ paved area and that is where they <br />would park t~eir cars. <br /> <br />MI'. Smit~ made a motion that the area variance be granted, <br />seconded by Mrs. Komornik~ On roll call vote - Mr. Savelli - <br />Yes, Mr. Smith - Yes, 5h-. Van WAgenen - Yes, Mm-.
