MINUTES OF ZONING BOARD OFAPPEALS MEETING HELD 11/10/98

Present: Sue Hodge, Lloyd Frink Harry Greco, Bob Lewis, Rick Cerino and Mary
Ann Bolander, Secretry

Others Present:
Trustee DiDomizio
Judy Morris
Mildred Palazzo
Gus Bertola

Trustee duliano
Charles Palazzo
Armand Alfonso
Rose Sapren

Meeting was called to order at 7.'35 p.m.

First order of business was a public hearing on the rehearing of the case of Mr. and Mrs.
Martin Resek, 17 Dennings Avenue, Beacon regarding their variance allowing them to
have four apartments in a non-conforming three family house at 20 Spring Street. It was
stated that the Secretary of the Zoning Board of Appeals had sent out a legal notice to all
property owners within 200ft. of subject property and the receipts for these notices were
made part of the file.

For the record it was stated that the applicant was not present for the rehearing. The
applicant had been notified by registered mail and proof of applicant receiving this
notification was made part of the file.

Mrs. Hodge stated that significant facts regarding this case had been brought to the
attention of the Zoning Board of Appeals and these facts had warranted this rehearing. It
was stated that in the previous approval process the applicant had stated that his wife's
grandmother would be living in one of the apartments rent free and this was the basis of
their case. Applicant stated he needed the fourth apartment to make up for the loss of
income. It was brought to the attention of the Board that the grandmother has now
moved out and is living in her own apartment elsewhere in the Village of Wappingers
Falls.

Parking was a major problem among the neighbors who were at the public hearing.
Mrs. Rose Sapren stated she has no objection to the fourth apartment being constructed
as long as the tenants are considerate of people who are living in the neighborhood and
park their vehicles in the driveway.

Mr. Palazzo stated there is a lot of congestion on that part of the street and he would like
to voice his opposition because of the congestion regarding the parking. Mrs. Sapren
again stated that the tenants shouM park in front of the house not in front of everyone
else" house on the street. Mrs. Palazzo stated she fears the house would be soM to
someone not desirable to the neighborhood and ruin the cozy way of life in the
neighborhood
