MINUTES OF ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS MEETING HELD MARCH 14. <br /> 200O <br /> <br />Present: Susan Hedge, Chair, Lloyd Frick, Vice Chair, Harry Greeo, Bob Morris, <br /> Newell Russell and Mary Ann Bolander, Secretary. <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Ms. Hedge took roll call. Everyone present. <br /> <br />I~ESS STATION. ROUTE 9, <br />First on the agenda was the public hearing on the request of Hess Corporation, seeking <br />use variance to have two nDralat~lxtsesOn one site (gas gtatian and ~ store), <br />area variance from the rear yard sethaek (proposed is 4 ff. and required is 25 it.) and an <br />area variance reqt, arxiing signaE* (allova~kis tx~o~aignsanrpmposed are flve, Mgns~and <br />allowed is 120 sq. ft. of signage and proposed is 192 sq. ft. ofsignage) for a proposed <br />convenience store to be associated with agasoline fxllingstatiun at 1237 Ronte 9. <br />Applicant presented to Board the affidavit of publication which appeared in the <br />Poughkeepsie~ournal onFebnmryz2Z2000 and thexec~i?s~aLthe rnailirlg~ <br />notice. <br /> <br />At this point Ms. Hedge read a copy of a letter from Dutchess County Dept. of Planning. <br />A copy of thisletter is onffaleSnxhePlanning/ZaningofYa~ <br />making the presentation on behalf of Hess Corporation. She went on to <br />state that the other variances depend on the ttse varlance~heing granted. <br /> <br />Mr. Setaro presented Hess's proposal. He stated that the proposal is to construct a 1660 <br />sq, ft~ ¢onx~rtiane~ store which '~o~ld alsoacI as_an~ He,~ ~ploy~e& Thc <br />existing kiosk under the canopy would be removed and new pumps put in its place. As <br />part of the project they also plan~pdatingt~signage~ar the site. Building <br />construction would involve a variance for rear setback. He very briefly described the <br />signage for the site. Currently orktha site ihere,~are five .~igns - three ~annpysigns, an <br />existing free standing sign and an existing price sign~ Therefore they are not looking to <br />add any additional signs.
