MINUTES OF PLANNING BOARD MEETING ttEL1) 11/4/99 Present: Tom Visentin, Chair, Tom Morris, Vice Chair, Rob Alfonso, John Karge, George Moran and Mary Ann Bolander, Secretary. Others Present: Al Capelli Ernie Martin Don Walker Bob Gray Paula Katanis Bob Travis Mary Townsend Bill Rhode Pio DiNardo Trustee Davis David Schlam Bob Morris Bill Bricklemaier HaroM Marsh Armand Alfonso Bill Karr Jack Fedigan Jim Bain Steve Tinkleman Trustee Cerino Meeting was called to order at Z'32 p.m. Motion by Mr. Alfonso, seconded by Mr. Karge to accept the minutes of the previous meeting. On roll call vote - Mr. Visentin -Aye, Mr. Karge -Aye, Mr. Moran -Aye, Mr. Alfonso -Aye and Mr. Morris -Absent for voting. At this point in the Mr. Visentin read the agenda for the meeting. P,4 UI, A IQI TANIS~ 3 EAST MAIN STREET First on the agenda was the informal appearance by Paul,~ataniS with a proposal to open a nail salon at 3 East Main Street. She stated it wouM be a nail salon only and she would also be doing massage therapy and facials. Mr. Visentin stated he has concerns of the parking situation. He stated according to the square footage of the building she will be using she will need lO parking spaces. There is on street parking on Main Street and there is also a municipal lot where people can park. Applicant was instructed to poll the other businesses in the area for the times they are open and the approximate number of parking spots they use. She was also asked to survey the municipal lot for availability of parking. Mr. Moran asked about the vapors from her business and applicant stated she would have a filter installed for that purpose. She also stated she wouM not be doing hair. Mr. Travis instructed applicant she would need a back flow preventer/reduced pressure zone. Mr. Karge suggested applicant instruct here employees to find somewhere else to park to keep the spaces on Main Street free. She was also reminded that there is a two hour parking limit on Main Street but applicant said that would have no impact on her business as she books appointments about every hour and it takes approximately 45 minutes to work on one customer. Mr. Visentin instructed applicant to bring the parking survey to the zoning office. The Planning Board would not hold her up from getting a building permit but the parking survey needs to be on file.
