Unanimously carried <br /> <br />MR. AND MRS. STEVE BARRY FOR 62 }VEST MAIN STREET <br />At last month's meeting Mr. and Mrs. Barry presented a proposal to be able to add a <br />third apartment to their property at the above address. It was noted by the Planning <br />Board that there were some area variances needed and before any final approval could <br />be given they would have to go to the ZBA to obtain these variances. Secretary noted <br />that they had gone to the previous ZBA meeting and all variances had been granted <br /> <br />At this point Mr. Karge made a motion to allow the third apartment, seconded by Mr. <br />Alfonso. Motion was unanimously carried. <br /> <br />ASTOR DA Y CARE CENTER FOR 17 FUI. TON STREET <br />Next on the agenda was the informal appearance by representatives of the Astor Day <br />Care Centers with a proposal for a day care center at 17 Fulton Street. Applicant stated <br />they are proposing a 10, 000 sq. fl. building to house the Astor Day Care Center. An <br />informal plan showed building would face Fulton Street and there would be parking for <br />approximately 27 vehicles. The play area wouM be located on the northern portion of <br />the site and delivery area would be at the southern end of the site. There would be two <br />ingresses/egresses one on Fulton Street in line with West Academy Street and the other <br />onto Dutchess Terrace. Last spring applicant had applied for and was given an <br />expansion grant far Head Start and Early Head Start programs to serve the Wappingers <br />Fails area. Head Start programs are federally funded program for children who meet <br />the guidelines for these services. Applicant stated there are presently five locations. <br />What they are proposing for the building wouM be two classrooms of children ages 3-4 <br />(approximately 42 children) and 18 early head start children ages 0-3. Program would <br />ran five days a week; 12 months a year from 7:30 a.m. to 5: 30 p. m. Program would <br />consist of approximately 60 children. As far as school buses are concerned there would <br />probably be two large vans to transport the children and possibly a special needs bus. <br /> <br /> <br />
