MINUTES OF THE PLANNING BOARD MEETING HELD 6/4/98 <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />George Moran, Rob Alfonso, John Karge, Tom Visentin, Tom Morris <br />(came afier minutes were vated on), and Mary ~4nn Bolander, Secretary. <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> Hank DiMarco <br /> John Jermyn <br /> Alan Flax <br /> Bill Bricklemaier <br /> Judy Morris <br /> Jack Fedigan <br /> <br />Bill Paltridge <br />Dominoes Pizza Representative <br />Ted Fink <br />John Chung <br />Tom Depuy <br />Mary Townsend <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. Motion by Mr. Moran and seconded by Mr. <br />Alfonso to approve the minutes of the May 7, 1998 meeting and motion by Mr. Moran and <br />seconded by Mr. Karge to approve the minutes of the May 21, 1998 meeting. Both <br />motions were unanimously approved with Mr. Morris being absent. <br /> <br />127 WEST MAIN STREET~ WAPPINGERS F. ALL~ NY <br />First order of business was the sign permit application of Spain Oil Corporation with an <br />application to change their sign at 127 West Main Street. They stated they would be <br />changing their name to BP. Mr. Paltridge stated they would be putting the sign in the <br />same spot as the previous sign. There would be some signage on the canopy also and he <br />has calculated this on his permit. After reviewing the sign permit application, Mr. Karge <br />made a motion to approve the permits as presented, seconded by Mr. Morris. <br />Unanimously carried. <br /> <br />59 WEST MAIN STREET, WAPP1NGERS FALLg~ NY <br />Next on the agenda was the application of Mr. Flax who was applying for a sign at the <br />above address. Applicant stated sign would be professionally lettered and would be put <br />at the same location as previous sign. Mr. Visentin asked if the sign was within the <br />boundaries of the property line and owner stated he believed it was but would make sure <br />it was. Mr. Visentin went on to explain about signs not being able to hang over the state <br />right-of-way without permission from the state. He also explained that the retail use is <br />grandfathered in that building as it is located in a residential zone and therefore it is a <br />non-conforming use. Mr. Morris made a motion to accept the sign permit as presented <br />contingent upon applicant having it done by a professional and not having it hang in the <br />state right-of-way. Motion seconded by Mr. Moran. Unanimously carried <br /> <br />Next portion of Mr. Flax's appearance was relative to the store itself. He stated he <br />would be opening an ice cream and snack store. He wouM be having his' garbage stored <br />in standard cans for garbage pick up. Mr. Morris asked applicant where he would be <br />parking his cars and he stated there is some on-street parking but there is also a parking <br />lot in the rear of the building. Mr. Morris asked if he would be taking both parts of the <br /> <br /> <br />
