MINUTES OF PLANNING BOARD MEETING HELD FEBRUARY $, 1998 <br /> <br />Present: Tom Visentin, Chairman, Tom Morris, Vice Chairman, Rob Alfonso, John Karge, <br />George Moran and Mary Ann Bolander <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> Mike Perpetua <br /> Jim Hughes <br /> Bob Kortright <br /> Ted Fink <br /> Bill Bricklemaier <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Motion by Mr. Alfonso, seconded by Mr. Moran to <br />accept the minutes of the previous meeting. Unanimously carried <br /> <br />Before the start of the regular meeting there was a short presentation by the Wappinger Creek <br />Watershed Planning Committee. <br /> <br />BIG MIKES, 69 SOUTH AVENUE <br />First on the agenda was the sign permit application by Big Mike's, 69 South Avenue to be able <br />to change the lettering on an already existing awning at the above address. Mr. Visentin <br />explained to Mr. Perpetua that the awning could not be hanging onto the DOT right-of-way. <br />Mr. Perpetua stated it is actually hanging over his entrance stairs. He went on to say that the <br />only thing he did was to change the lettering on an already existing awning. After reviewing the <br />permit Mr. Alfonso made a motion to approve the sign as presented, seconded by Mr. Karge. <br />Unanimously carried. Mr. Perpetua *vas instructed to come into the Zoning Office to pay for <br />his permit. <br /> <br />OAK PARK TERRACE <br />Next on the agenda was' the application by Hudson Valley Housing Development Corporation <br />askingpermission to be able to put two temporary signs up at the above work site. The signs <br />will only be up for the time of constructior~ Applicant stated that the signs were given to them <br />by the state and they had no choice in the sizes or design. Applicant also stated she wanted to <br />put the both signs on one pole. She was informed that according to the Ordinance only one sign <br />was allowed per parcel. After reviewing both permits it was determined that one of the signs <br />was too big and she wouM have to go to the ZBA for a variance. Applicant was also informed <br />if she wanted to have both signs on one pole she would also need a variance for that. Mr. Morris <br />made a motion to approve the signs contingent upon applicant getting permission from the ZBA <br />for the size of the one sign and being able to have two signs on one parcel. Mr. Alfonso <br />seconded motion. Unanimously carried Chairman informed applicant that he would write a <br />letter to the ZBA telling them that the Planning Board has no objection to the signs' as they are <br />only temporary and one therefor the duration of construction but the final decision would have <br />to come from the ZBA. <br /> <br />BOURBON STREETA T THE FALLS <br /> <br /> <br />
