Fisch that the above minutes
be accepted as written and corrected.

Motion carried - Unanimous

Committee Reports:

Public Works

Tr. Hargrave reported another proposal for the street cleaner for the
catch basin maintenance program that was discussed last month. The
machine that public works had received did not function properly and
had to be returned. The recent proposal is for $600.00 for an eight
hour day with approximately 1AO hours worth of work.

Mayor Hemingway inquired if it is possible to clean the catch basins
at the present time, considering cold weather conditions.

Tr. Costello stated that he had spoken to Leslie Pettit who is
familiar with that type of apparatus, and outside temperature should
basically be AO degrees, with underground conditions satisfactory for
the machinery to clean the basins.

After discussing the pros and cons of continuing with the catch basin
project, Mayor Hemingway stated that with all considered, it is best
to wait until Spring.

Tr. Hargrave also reported that maintenance was done on the plows and
sanders. He also reported that he had contacted the roofing company
to come back and make some repairs to the highway garage roof.

Meeting 12/13/89 Page
