Th~ regular n~cting of the Village Board of Trust~s was held on June 9, 1993 at <br />7:30 in the ~ln. T. Garner Engine Co. rsitJler than the Village Hall due to the loss <br />of electric power at the Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Hinzmann, Tr. Napoleon, Tr. DiIx~izio, Tr. Shay, Tr. Traver, Tr. Bain, <br />Tr. Osavich and Atty. Viglotti. <br /> <br />Minutes of the last regular ~m~cting held May 12, 1993 had ~n duplicated and pre- <br />viously presented to Board memlbers. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. DiDomizio, seconded by Tr. Shay tb~t the ~e minutes be accepted <br />as written. Carried. <br /> <br />Auplication for certification frcm F.C.C. Re: CATV franchise: <br /> <br /> S <br />Tr. Bain ~reported new item appeared in the business section of the Poughkeepsie <br />Journal recently oatlining procedures and regulations and stated he thought advant- <br />ageous for the Village to pursue same. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Bain, seconded by Tr. Shay that the Village apply for certification <br />as a regulator frcm the F.C.C. Carried. <br /> <br />Request permission frem DEC to temporarily raise the dam 12" to 14", during the <br />months, to increase the level of the lake. <br /> <br />Tr. Bain reported Electro Ecology has received complaints frc~ people who Utilize <br />the lake during tb~ sum ruer months and stated increased depth would also be bene- <br />ficial for operations of the ~ Harvester. <br />He stated request would b~ve to be sutmitted to D.E .C. for approval and Electro <br />could do the actual raising and charge the same off to our royalties. <br /> <br />Discussion followed on method used in raising the dam. <br /> <br />Tr. Napoleon reported this procedure %~as attempted back in the 60's and, as a <br />result of the vibrations it caused, buildings along West Main St. were da~sged <br />and the sound also caused a deafening effect. <br />He also reported excessive water WOUld be beneficial for Electro generating power <br />and rec~_nded we acquire a legal opinion before any action is taken. <br /> <br />Request Town of Poughkeepsie to re~a~n funding in future budgets for Trash pick up. <br /> <br />Tr. Napoleon reported this request was not neoessary as the First Ward residents <br />have now been placed in another budget cat~gory whereby taxes will not be increased <br />for a Trash pick up. <br />He stated Town of Wappinger contributes towards our Clean up without raising taxes. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Shay, secoojed by Tr. Bain that a letter be' forwarded Town of Bough- <br />keepsie requesting they continue with financial assistance for the First Ward Clean <br />up. Carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
