A Public Hearing on a proposed local~la~ entitled "A local law proviM~ng for the <br />Village of Wappingers Falls to enforce collection of Village Property Taxes <br />pursuant to Title 3, Article 14, of the Rsal Property Tax Law, was held on <br />Wednesday, Aug. 10, 1994 at 7:15 P.M. <br /> <br />Mayor Hinzmann read proposed local la~, notice of which appeared in the W. & S.D. <br />News on 8-3-94. <br />He stated State Legislature , in 1993, adopted a law, effective 1-1-95, whereby <br />third party tax liens would be abolished, thus eliminating Village tax sales. <br />Mayor Hinzmann reported legislation has been revised which would allG~ Village's <br />to opt out of this procedure,if they so desired, and t/mis was the purpose of this <br />local law. <br /> <br />He stated Dutchess County was one of the 9 Count/es in New York State who refus~ <br />to enforce the collection of delinquent Village rexes. <br /> <br />No one present voiced an opinion pro or con said local law. <br /> <br />Public Hearing closed 7: 30 P.M. <br /> <br />Village Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
