An emergency meeting was held on 5-30-84 at 2:00 P.M. in the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett~ Tr. Mazochi, Fire Chief Farrell, Firemen Robert Traver~ <br />Fire Inspector Robert MacDc~e11, Supt. of Public Works Fred Sidote, Town <br />Councilman Geraxd McCluskey, Tr. Costa~ Police Sgt. William McCord and 1st. <br />Fire Asst. Chief Daniel Mucci. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported dangerous situation at the corner of High and Mill <br />Streets and discussed possible evacuation of residents in the area. <br />He.stated he contacted Civil Defense and the Wappingers Junior High School <br />would be ~used as a Central location, with ~vans School as an alternate and <br />school buses would be available for transportaion. <br />Mayor Synnett reported he would call the Red Cross for temDorary set ups and <br />Supt. has also been ~ontacted. <br />He stated gates on the lake cannot be touched and suggested contacting the <br />Captain of the Fire Police to work with the Police Department. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Farrell reported two new pumps have been purchased and the biggest <br />problem was with the two houses at the end of Mill St. and a few houses on <br />Remsen Ave. <br />He stated that he notified the business people in Industrial Park to evacuate <br />the premises. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett Synnett directed the Police to notify the residents of lower <br />High Street and Mill Street as to possible evacuation. <br />He reported D.C. Supt. of Public Works James Spratt was running operations <br />for the County. <br /> <br />At this time Mayor Synnett called a state of emergency in the Village and <br />thanked the Police, Fire Department and Civil Defense for their efforts at <br />a time of 9rear concern £or all the residents of the Village. <br /> <br />Meeting closed 2:45 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />
