<br />Regular Meeting of the Mayor and Village Board of TrusteesWednesday, March 14, <br /> was held on <br />2007 <br />at 7:15 P.M., in the American Legion Hall, 7 Spring Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR LATE MR. KENNETH JENNINGS <br />Mayor stated Mr. Jennings was a long time Village resident and he was also a leader of the youth in the <br />Village. As boy himself, Mr. Jennings had Troop 27, Boy Scouts of America. They used to meet right <br />in this building. He was into everything was: Little League, baseball and different things he used to <br />coach. He was someone everybody looked up to because he went after the youth to do the best they <br />could and put their right foot forward. <br />ROLL CALL <br />: Mayor Lawrence, present; Tr. Weitlich, present; Tr. Alexander, present; Tr. Chase, <br />present; Tr. Cerino, absent; Tr. Visentin, present; Tr. Hilderbrand, absent. <br /> <br />ACTION ON MINUTES <br />: <br />February 21, 2007 Regular Board Meeting <br />. <br />Mayor asked if all had read the minutes. <br />Motion by Tr. Weitlich to accept the minutes as written. Seconded by Tr. Chase. All in favor. <br />Carried. <br />Public Hearing February 28, 2007. <br />Clerk stated this public hearing was held with regard to proposed Local Law #5 of 2006 to change <br />zoning on East Main Street from “OB” to “CB”. (Patriot's Park rezoning). <br />Motion Tr. Alexander to approve minutes of public hearing. Seconded by Tr. Weitlich. All in favor. <br />Carried. <br />AUTHORIZATION TO PAY BILLS AS PER APPROVED WARRANTS. <br />Tr. Weitlich stated he and Tr. Cerino have signed the bills and he then made a motion to pay bills as <br />per approved warrants. Seconded by Tr. Visentin. All in favor. Carried. <br />DEPARTMENT MANAGERS REPORTS. <br />TREASURER <br />: Jennifer Brown stated she has been working with ADP to get the new payroll system <br />up and running. The goal is to have it in place by April. She has received very positive feedback from <br />employees about direct deposit and she's hoping many will take advantage of this service. Two of the <br />local banks will be in the Village Hall Thursday (HSBC) and Friday (M & T) this week to sign people <br />up and explain the benefits and “extras” that are available. The CD that was opened at the end of the <br />tax collection last year closed this week. $11,201.32 was earned in interest on this money. She will be <br />working closely with M & T bank for tax collection and a CD again next fiscal year. She has begun <br />putting a tentative budget together for the 2007-2008 fiscal year and she is looking forward to working <br />with the Board on this in April. <br />HIGHWAY <br />: Superintendent Marshall stated they did sanding on 2/22 & 2/25; plowing and sanding <br />was done on 2/26; sanding was done on 3/7. They worked with the Water Dept. on Mill Street where <br />there was a break in the main. There were 4 sewer calls on Carmine Drive. He thinks the problem is <br />solved but he's getting a camera in to see if it's okay or not. He is also getting a camera to do a portion <br />of Delavergne Ave. The sweeper cleaned the parade route; patched potholes and cleaned some storm <br />drains. <br />POLICE <br />: Comm. Capra stated it was a busy month. Last weekend there was a robbery on 9D at 11 <br />o'clock at night. Detectives were brought in and about 10 o'clock the next morning Detective Novik <br /> <br />
