A Workshop session on the proposed Rte. 9 project was held on 8-29-84 at <br />7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Present: Hr. Purdy A. Halstead, N¥S DOT Pro~ect Engineer, Hr. Mastropietro, <br />NYS DOT, W.H, Kihillus~ NYS DOT, Town Councilman Joseph ,Incoronato, Town <br />Council women Irene Paino & ~enata Ballard. Town Supervisor Versace, 5~ayor <br />Synnett, Tr. Boyle, Tr. Costa, Tr. Mazochi,Tr. Cioppa, Atty. Reilly and <br />Eng. Wall. <br /> <br />blayor Synnett re~orted there was a problem by the bridge and he was concerned <br />with traffic. He reported Village was dissatisfied with the Rte. 9D project in <br />that many of the signs have not been replaced. <br /> <br />Mr. Mastropietro, reported Public Hg. held a~d comments have been researched <br />regarding environmental assessment. He stated preference was Alternate A and <br />major concern was the Mancini property. <br />Hr. Mastropie~ro reported elevation of roadway had a lOWer profile of 2' <br />as criteria changed rega~ding flood level. He stated there would be 2' less <br />embankment in lake and the installation of a retaining wall at the Hancini <br />property. <br />Mr. Hastropietro reported Plan A had a significant impac~ on the area and <br />exposure could be reduced by moving project further away from bld9. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported they would be working on the dam next week and wanted <br />debris kept out of lake. <br /> <br />Mr. Kihillus reported reason for the meeting was to bring everyone up to date <br />on the project. He stated after Public Hg. they have to make a response. <br />He stated detailed information is significant as it has an impact on the lake <br />and the Mancini property. <br />Mr. Kihillus reported Village and Town agreed on Alternate A and this refined <br />profile concerning alignment across the lake. <br />He stated he asked real estate people to make another survey concerning right <br />of way impact and requested impact on the ~ancini property. <br />He reported Mr. Hancini conCOcted State-officials in re: to impact on his <br />property a~d real estate people re-evaluated property but he could not Give <br />the figures. <br />Hr. Kihillus stated Mancini could still stay in business but parkinG and <br />septic would be effected by Alternate A. They were told by Hancini that he <br />might seek court action and Alternate B might be acceptable to him. <br />He stated they had a slight modification to Alternate A that alters the <br />impact on the lake slightly. He reported changing profile 2' automatically <br />has impact on lake. <br /> <br />Supervisor Versace reported Alternate A was in the best interest of the Town <br />and Village and State vowed they would work closely with the municipalities. <br />He stated he didn't appreciate outside interference or being pressured by <br />one business. He reported Alternate A would have the least impact on the Town <br />and Village and felt strongly at the Public Hg. and gave his position. <br />He reported State should be concerned with all businesses and residences along <br />Rte. 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
