Mr. Don Gioia was representing the Church. Mr. Gioia stated the sign would
be 3'' 6” in width and approximately 6' in height (there would be 1' from the top of the bricks to the
bottom of the sign – the reason for this is that there will be a lock on the bottom of the case to prevent
vandalism). The case would open and have interchangeable letters to advertise different events going
on at the Church. It was stated that the lineal frontage of the building is 115 ft. Mr. Gioia stated the
bricks at the base of the sign would have names on them – people could buy a brick to honor a loved
one. Mr. Morris informed Mr. Gioia that there is a Local Law just about to be enacted that was passed
by the Village Board which states there will be no internally illuminated signs. He then stated the sign
looked like a plain box and suggested Mr. Gioia take some of the attributes from the existing sign (e.g.
Decorative top) and incorporate them into the new sign. Mr. Morris stated he liked the idea of the
planter and bricks with names on the base of the sign. Mr. Gioia stated while he had no objection to
the decorative top being added to the top of the sign – he felt it would be too expensive for the Church.
Mr. Kolb asked if the sign would be in the same place as the existing sign and Mr. Gioia answered yes
it would. Mr. Kolb went on to state his concerns are: (1) proper site distance – the Church is located on
a corner lot – make sure there is no problem with traffic when people are pulling out of S. Mesier
Avenue, (2) the sign should not be internally lit and (3) ornamental work done to the top of the sign.
Mr. Gioia stated the posts will be silver aluminum and the area around the face of the sign would be
burgundy. After much discussion Mr. Gioia was instructed to come back to the Board with a proposal
that included some decorative work on the top of the sign and also a proposal for down lighting of the
sign.

VILLAGE CREAMERY, 14 MILL STREET
Next on the agenda was a proposed sign and to construct a two car a garage with apartment.
