MINUTES OF PLANNING BOARD MEETING HELD DECEMBER 6, 2007 Present: Tom Morris, Chairman, Lisa Firstenberg, Vice Chairperson, Don McCormick, George Moran Absent: Kristina Costa Others Present: Bob McDonough Liz Glassberg George Sotanski Larry Drake Lou Snell Jack Fedigan Jay Paggi Jim Horan Michele Greig Robert Marchione Angel Barros Lou Fiorese Debbie Porco Dominic Porco Steve Tinkleman Eric Neiler Michael Sotanski Michael Collier Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Motion by Mr. McCormick, seconded by Mr. Moran to approve the minutes of the November meeting as amended. On roll call vote – Mr. Morris – Aye, Mr. McCormick – Aye, Mr. Moran – Aye, Ms. Firstenberg – Abstain and Ms. Costa – Absent. DUTCHESS SHOPPING PLAZA, COURTESY PERFORMANCE First on the agenda was the proposed sign and change of ownership for Courtesy Performance. It was stated that the site was the previous location of Rims on Rides. Applicant stated his business would be similar to Rims on Rides. It is basically a showroom for wheels and accessories for another shop which they have in Poughkeepsie. They will be making no changes to the inside of the building – just painting - their hours of operation will be seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. To 9:00 p.m. Mr. Moran made a motion to approve the use, seconded by Mr. McCormick. Unanimously carried. Next the sign was discussed – It was stated that the applicant would be using the existing box for the sign – the sign permit application was reviewed for conformity to the codes – sign would be internally illuminated – Mr. McCormick made a motion to approve the sign contingent upon: (1) a color sample of the red being brought to the Planning Office, (2) the lineal footage of the store front put on the application and (3) the wattage of the bulbs being noted. Motion was seconded by Mr. Moran. Unanimously carried. JOHNNIES STORE, 2723 WEST MAIN STREET Next on the agenda was a discussion regarding the change of ownership for Johnnies Store, 2723 West Main Street. Mr. McDonough stated he would be buying the entire building. It was stated for the record that the business has been closed for less than 18 months – therefore it did not lose the “grandfather clause” - and new owners could continue to operate the business as it previously existed. Mr. Mcdonough stated he would be doing no structural changes but he would stay in touch with the Code Enforcement Officer if he decided to do anything. Their hours of operation would be Monday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. To 10:00 p.m. And Sundays from 6:00 a.m. To 7:00 p.m. Mr. McCormick made a motion to approve the use as currently exists, seconded by Mr. Moran. Unanimously carried. Applicant was reminded to apply to the Zoning Enforcement Officer for a new Certificate of Occupancy.
