<br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE PLANNING BOARD MEETING HELD APRIL 2, 2009 <br /> <br />Present: Tom Morris, Chairman, Lisa Firstenberg, Vice Chairman, George Moran, <br />John Chase, Don McCormick and Mary Ann Loncto <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> Angel Barros Pat Tandy <br /> John Adams Joy Marniak <br /> James Marniak Cal Lawrence <br /> Yvonne Lawrence Annettia Gigliotti <br /> Harold Glassberg Lou Snell <br /> Daniel Mayet Nick Parorelli <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Motion by Mr. Moran, seconded by Mr. Chase <br />to accept the minutes as amended. Unanimously carried. <br /> <br />ANGEL BARROS, 19 DELAVERGNE AVENUE <br />First on the agenda was the discussion with Angel Barros, 19 Delavergne Avenue <br />regarding screening VOC’s at spray booth. Mr. Mayet representing Mr. Barros passed <br />out copies of the proposed screening at spray booths. He stated that the submission <br />consisted of VOC’s screening chamber section and the description of the volatile organic <br />compounds screening from NIOSH Manual dated Maya 15, 1996. He stated after <br />standard screening in the spray booth, the flow shall discharge into the chamber with 3 <br />types of carbon absorbents, e.g., carboxen 60 mesh at 150 mg, carbora B 40/60 mesh 115 <br />mg and carbora Y 40/60 mesh 90 mg. The chamber shall have an airtight opening. Mr. <br />Morris asked applicant if what they are proposing will reduce the VOC’s down to within <br />the DEC’s recommended amounts and applicant answered yes it would. It was stated <br />that the filters would have to be changed every three months. Mr. Morris stated he would <br />have to have the Consultants review the system to see if it meets the criteria of the DEC. <br />At this point Mr. Morris read into the record a letter dated March 30, 2009 from Fire <br />Chief Tarquinio (Copy of which is on file in the Planning/Zoning offices). Mr. Morris <br />also asked applicant to respond to all of the comments in Consultants letters and also to <br />comments in Fire Chief’s memo. Mr. Paggi’s letter dated March 3, 2009. Applicant was <br />asked to replenish his escrow account with $1,200.00. Jeanne DiPolito stated nothing <br />tonight addressed the sprinkler system and Mr. Morris stated it was part of the <br />consultants letters and would be addressed by the applicants. She also stated the spray <br />booth was supposed to face Nelson Avenue and it did not appear on the drawing that was <br />the case - she wanted to make sure that when it is installed it would be facing Nelson <br />Avenue. <br /> <br />JOB LOTS, IMPERIAL PLAZA <br />Next on the agenda is a proposed directory sign for Job Lots in the Imperial Plaza. They <br />are proposing a sign that is a square instead of a long vertical slat. It was stated that the <br />Zoning Board of Appeals found as a matter of fact that the ZBA does not enumerate the <br />pylon sign as a sign because thrae is already an agreement issued eliminating the sign <br />from the count.
