MINUTES FROM PLANNING BOARD MEETING HELD 11/3/05 Present: Tom Morris, Chairman, Rob Alfonso, Vice Chairman, George Moran, Matt Alexander, Don McCormick and Mary Ann Loncto, Secretary Others Present: Herbert Moores Robert McDonough Jody Cleveland Jim Serroukous Damian Cardinale Richard Barger Theresa Novick C. Antonucci Wolfe Micelic Sharley Forcelli Gus Serroukous Charles Norman Calvin Lawrence Don Miller Mag'm Novick Charles Antonucci, Sr. Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Motion by Mr. Alfonso, seconded by MR. Moran to accept the minutes of the previous meeting as amended - Unanimously carried. Amendment included: - Page 3 - General Business - under Snell - It should be stated that the Board is talking about Global Granite. VALERO SERVICE STATION (FORMERLY TEXACO) 2558 SOUTH AVENUE First on the agenda was the proposed from Valero Service Station (currently Texaco) to change their existing signs. Mr. Herb Moores representing Wappinger Properties who is the new owner of the Texaco Station stated they are changing the brand from Texaco to Valero. He submitted a report which shows pictures of the existing signs and a depiction of what it would look like with the Valero signs replacing the existing Texaco signs. He stated the canopy would be a one for one replacement. In order to have a better traffic circulation on site - they would like to relocate the road sign to the southerly portion of the property (adjacent to Village Square). He feels the area is a mix of residential and commercial and he feels the new location and signs would be user and neighborhood friendly. He showed the Board two new road signs - the first one would be 20' in height and is a flag sign - it would be 150 sq. ft. of signs (calculating both signs of the sign). It was stated that the existing Texaco sign is 16' in height and has an area of 84 sq. ft. Applicant stated he is aware of our current size ordinances and stated that the frontage of the building is 60 lineal ft. - existing total signage on property is 164 sq. ft. He stated if the Board wanted to go with the flag sign total sq. footage with new canopy would be 194 sq. ft. He also submitted a two post sign which is 12 ft in height. The total of the post sign would be 96 sq. ft. for both sides - canopy sign is 35 sq. ft. so total area for these two signs would be 132 sq. ft. Just to recap - existing signage is 164 sq. ft. - flag type sign with canopy would be 196 sq. ft. and two post sign would be 132 sq. ft. He stated that the Corporate colors for Valero is teal and yellow.
