", Page 2. <br />second paragraph, second sentence should read ". .... letter from the United States Army <br />Corps of EngineerS dated August 22, 2003 stating that the project does not reqmre an <br />United States Army Corps of Engineers permit.", Page 2, second paragraph, eighth <br />sentence should re~d '~ ...... which should state that no machinery will enter the wetland <br />area and aPPlicant ,vould install ....... ",Page 3, under Bostwick Sales, tenth line should <br />read ". ...... as spaces are rented and as long ........... the threshold the applicant could <br />proceed." And finally Mr. Alfonso asked secretary to write letter to Futurama thanking <br />them for their cooperation and this has been done. Motion to accept the minutes as <br />amended by Mr. Moran, seconded by Mr. Alfonso unanimously carried. <br /> <br />SPAIN OIL CORPORATION, SOUTlt AVENtFF, <br />Next on the agenda was the appearance of Southeastern Sign Works with a proposal to <br />change all signs and Canopies at 2558 South Avenue fi.om Texaco to Shell Applicant <br />stated they do not want to change the canopies -just the signage and colors on the <br />canopies. Mr. Morris stated the number of signs on the site - exceeds the current <br />ordinance - does property owner have a variance for the number of signs on the site. It <br />was stated that according to the files in the Planning and Zoning offices- there is no <br />record of any variances being granted. Applicant stated Shell just purchased the business <br />from Texaco mad he would research the files to see if there are any variances previously <br />granted. Mr. Morris stated that unless applicant could produce a previous variance - <br />applicant would have to go back to the ZBA for a variance. He then proceeded to explain <br />the non-conformity clause of the ordinance~ Mr. Morris then explained to applicant that <br />he was allowed two sq. foot of sigu for each lineal foot of building frontage. It was <br />stated that building was 60 lineal foot frontage. The Planning Board stated the proposed <br />road sign was much too large and completely out of place within the Village's proposed <br />sign criteria. Mr. Morris went on to stated - it is a limited stretch of road, cars go by very <br />slowly - a large sign is not needed for building visibility. He went on to state that he is <br />concerned about the wattage oftbe bulbs - there is no competition from any other service <br />station in the immediate area~ Mr. Alfonso asked applicant if he was intending to post <br />the gas prices under the road sign and he answered yes he was.
